Hi everyone, I am Ohis the Gaffer, and I watch football to cook tomorrow’s agenda today!

While my friends think I am awkward because I don’t turn up on my birthday, I celebrate other things that matter and mean more to me like the first live game I watched, which has shaped my entire life.

My football anniversary is on the 2nd of June every year because that was when my foetus broke into the world of the beautiful round leather game I call my love, for a Nigerian father who doesn’t joke with church to tell me to take a break from Sunday school to watch what was a clutch performance from Gabriel Batistuta and Ariel Ortega in the game the super eagles lost in the 2002 group stage opener of the FIFA world cup in Korea/Japan, I knew that it was serious business.

Twenty years down the line, I’ve watched 5 euros, 6 world cups, and 12 African cup of nations while monitoring events at the CONCACAF gold cup and Copa America amongst other glorified national friendlies like the Uefa nations league, world cup qualifiers, euro qualifiers, afcon qualifiers.

The major reason why the international break is dreaded so much is the fact that it accumulates fatigue to key players of club sides which come with the risk of possible injuries that being said, here are three tips to survive the next international break:

Follow Up Performances from the Past International Tournament(s)

In sales, there is something we call “MRM” which means monthly review meetings. this meeting is held to review the performances of the business, product and salesman within a period under review. for the first international break of the year, the world cup which was concluded in mid-December would be used as a benchmark and a couple of players were gun blazing at that tournament, some have risen like yeast while some have dipped like eth in march but a good way to enjoy the upcoming international break is by looking forward to watching players who balled at the last world cup like Azzedine Uunahi, Nayif Aguerd, Olivier Giroud, Sofyann Ambrabat, Julian Alvarez, Kylian Mbappe Lottin, Antoine Griezmann, Randal Kolo Muani, Josko Gvardiol and Lionel isiewu Messi amongst other notable players to see if they fall within the crypto or bread category of things. If e choke you go know!

Update Records of Current Active Internationals

A wise man once said that Joseph might have worn a coat of many colours but Yobo won over a hundred caps for the super eagles which solidifies his name as one of the greatest ever servants in our national football history. A good way to get by the international break is to update records of current internationals from who’s breaking records for the most appearances for his national team, to who’s getting Olivier Giroud status by breaking the record for the most goals scored for his national team and so on and so spurs sorry I meant forth.

Agenda Setting and Review Sessions

One year on from Ukraine and Russia wars, Andriy Yarmolenko and Aleksandr Golovin are still yet to do anything notable for their club sides after mind-blowing performances for their respective countries in the 2020 euros and 2018 world cup respectively. There is no better time for players struggling with club form to catch it other than the fever that comes with the international break, it is also a good time for you to set new agendas and propagandas and review already existing ones.

As the first international break of the year 2023 draws, I’m looking forward to some things which include how the super eagles will fare with her abundance of forwards at the Cote d’Ivoire 2023 afcon qualifying double header against Guinea-Bissau and the start of the race for 23 remaining spots for the upcoming euros in Germany in the summer break of the year 2024.

How would you Survive the next International Break?
